KCPS AC-7 HVAC & Boiler

Fast-track 75-day HVAC and boiler modernization across nine KCPS school locations including replacement of boilers, installation of rooftop units, refrigerant lines, condensate piping, controls, and new Lennox equipment. Work included boiler room repiping, pump systems, and complete startup.

The KCPS AC-7 HVAC & Boiler Project was a comprehensive initiative completed on time within a strict 90-day deadline. Collaborating closely with the school district project team and Lankford Fendler Engineering, the scope of work spanned nine school locations. Project leadership included Jarred Welch as Project Foreman and Seth Rogers as Project Manager.
The project involved the installation of Lennox equipment, including 99 split systems, 3 AHU systems, and 5 15-ton RTU units. Design layout and coordinated drawings were developed for six gymnasiums, with ductwork and Test/Balance reporting managed in collaboration with US Engineering. Tasks included the installation of refrigerant lines, condensate piping, controllers, and system startups across all units.
Additionally, extensive work was conducted in three boiler rooms, replacing nine boilers with AES and Lochinvar models. This included the installation of new boiler pumps, skid pump systems, and centrotherm venting with exhaust intake design and installation. A complete repiping of all boiler systems was performed, incorporating new air dirt separators and expansion tanks to meet system requirements. The startup and coordination of all systems ensured seamless operation and successful project completion.
